Brief Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Workshop
This workshop will be led by Prof Robert Ursano. Prof Ursano is Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at the Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, Maryland. He is founding Director of the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress and served as the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at USU for 25 years (1992-2017). Dr. Ursano has also served as the Department of Defense representative to the National Advisory Mental Health Council of the National Institute of Mental Health and is a past member of the Veterans Affairs Mental Health Study Section and the National Institute of Mental Health Rapid Trauma and Disaster Grant Review Section.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is as a unique modality of treatment in mental health disorders, focusing more on helping an individual increase their own self-awareness and understanding the relationship between past and present. Through this process, an individual will be better able to identify to resolve underlying issues in their life.
The workshop will be held on 19 January (Saturday), 8:30am – 12:30pm, at the NUHS Tower Block, Level 11, Room T11-03.
